I have three juvenile archerfish in a growout, I want to add to my 220 predator tank, but my paratilapia is too big to live with them, he will eat them. So I was thinking about moving him to my tanganyikan 90 gallon tank for a while until the archers grow, then he can come back to the 220 when the archers are bigger. Will he get along in the tanganyikan tank for a while? It's just 5 leleupi and 6 cyprichromis.

Seen other tilapia with other tangyanikans and was fine. Probably alright for the short term.

Madagascan Paratilapia are an entirely different animal from any normal African Tilapia., except maybe the attitude of buttikoferi.
Although they are generally not aggressive with other "non"-similar shaped cichlid species, but anything small or cylindrical enough to fit in their cavernous mouth could be at risk.
Or any cichlid with iridescent spots, may also be in jeopardy.

I have successfully kept them with tsimilar size members of the other Malagasy genus Paretroplus.

They especially don't like others of their one genus, or other sparkly similar shaped cichlids.
I tried to keep 2 in a 400 gal pool without success.

Thanks. The starry night is probably 5" and the tanganyikans are like 3" so... i don't know, it's hard to say. Appreciate the response.l What a beautiful tank that must have been with those dambas and the polleni.
