I have this situation where my big male midas seems to be extremely tolerant towards his own offsrping in close proximity as in right next to each other..these offspring most are close to full grown 10 inches or so all males. one in particular always would hang out with the dad and mom in the pond or in the tank setup even to the point of being close by when spawning. he himself has only spawned a few times but only with parrots doesnt seem to like his own kind for that.not sure what to make of it. has anyone had this experience before..can they recognize their spawn as adults? i know ive seperated pairs and 6 months later he can recognize his mate as they seem to only want to spawn with the same female everytime.i want to make this large tank setup essentially a family tree where all the tank mates are related in some way as i progress my red texas line adding a male from each generation.right now its just midas along with a few rosequeens all related in some way to the alpha male. with a large pond to help grow outs its going to be sweet
