Eggs were put on a large log, too large to remove, gone the next day.
This has been the routine for them, and other Paretroplus I've kept over the years.
I have heard they are less likely to eat their eggs in ponds, than aquariums. My kitchen table is in the way, so I guess it must go.
My plan is to build a sort of riverine tank the length of my kitchen, no glass and not very deep (maybe 1.5ft) warmest room in the house.
Just acquired the pond liner for it today.
I've been watching my Gymnogeophagus and Austraoheros spawn in the pond outside this summer, they seem to prefer the most shallow parts, and lead fry into water sometimes only 2"-6" deep, this is interesting, and I wonder if this may help the Paretroplines feel more secure.
