Unfortunately some nasty bacterial disease wiped out my tank with Paretroplus dambabe and menerambo a few months ago. I was really sad because it had taken me awhile to find them and to find ones that were in my price range. Well a couple weeks ago my LFS had menerambo come up on thier stocking list (never seen before) and they ordered some for me. They sent four, all of which I bought for $11 each, but they were very tiny. Like >1" TL. Anyway two of them never really started eating well and died after a little while. So I am left with two... Will this be a problem with compatability? Do I need to buy more? Or just leave them as they are?

Although Paretoplus are shoaling fish, if the 2 grow up in that situation, it may work.
If left as just 2 for any length of time, it may be very hard to add others in the future. Once a group or territorial dynamic has been established in adults, I have found it very hard to alter that situation.
Maybe my tanks were just too small for change, your 700 may offer a different scenario because of the space and be more forgiving.

Well I guess I will just have to watch them closely and see how they do. While they may eventually end up in the 700g because they growso slowly, and they are so tiny right now it will be quite awhile before they end up in there. For the foreseeable future they will be in either my 120g or my 155g. If they fight too much I could separate them and put one in each tank, but that may make it difficult to put them together in the 700g if I ever need to... Or maybe if I am able to get any more Paretroplus before they are too old I up the numbers...
