A few days ago I noticed white stringy poop coming out of my sunshine peacock so I put in general cure as directed. I put it in the first time then waited the 48 hours, then put in the second dose last night and now this morning there are multiple fish in the tank with the white stringy poop.

I guess my question is when is it supposed to start kicking in and if it doesn't what am I supposed to do?

Also it says after you put in the meds you take out filter cartridges, is this needed? Cause that would take out alot of my bacteria.

The only thing you need to remove from your filters is carbon if you use it. I would started feeding epsom salt soaked food. @RD has good article at the top of the page about dosage.

If your fish are still eating, you might just need to change up the food. White stringy poop doesn't always indicate parasites. It could simply be constipation.
The noted Epsom salt suggestion is a great option.
Plenty of veggie based commercial foods available.

I feed North Fin veggie and Bug Bites Cichlid and as of late I've gradually fed more of the Bug Bites. So I'm gonna stick with the "veggie" food (it's not even all veggie, the second ingredient is literally krill meal) and shy away from the Bug Bites.

BTW I'm doing the emsom salt thing already.

Every once in a while some of my Africans get the stringy poop. My remedy is Omega One Kelp pellets & a big WC. Hope things clear up soon
