I was wondering if anyone has experience with keeping both paroon shark and the ID shark together? (Pangasius Sanitwongsei & Pangasius Hypophthalmus)

I know the Paroon will quickly outgrow the smaller one, but i want to try and see if i can get an ID to a good 2-3 feet size.
I have never personally seen anyone bigger then 1 feet around here, but have seen pics here on MFK of bigger ones, but very few, considering how common they are.

I have one Paroon right now around 11-12" and can possibly get an ID around 12".

I have heard of Paroon´s eating smaller ID sharks, but my Paroon is very calm and has not shown any sign of agression.
Just wanted a little feedback if anyone has kept those species together.

before I lost my fishes ... :irked: cracked tank

my 4-5" paroon shark gets along with a 2-3" albino ID ... before I forgot to fed him a day ... and then a budge belly the next day :irked:

I have a 7" paroon with a 4" albino id. no problems at all.
but then my paroon seems fairly tame...feeders would swim with him for days without being touched. but I once had a 4" gourami that died and he ate it before i could take it out. at that time he was 5-6". so he looked like a giant cube for 2 days, and he never bothered it when it was alive.

I think it should be fine. You'll be surprised how fast the ID will grow. Mine have gone from 1.5" to 20" in 2 yrs.

you have to be careful with paroons cuz they are predatory. I've seen a vid where this guy's paroon went round eating all the other fishes in its tank. That being said...paroons have been known to have a mean streak. I used to have 3 of them. Bought together and grew up together till about 2 ft. Then....two of em paired up...and basically beat the other one to death. Picture a shark attack....just minus the blood. Literally bashed and rammed the other fish into a pulpy lumpy mess.

if the paroon outgrows your id shark i think it might eat it up if its hungry. i personally have never kept paroons because i like to keep a variety of fishes.but i have seen may videos in which the paroon shark ends up eating the id fish.
