I have a 12" paroon shark for sale. Im looking for $100 for him and his friend till the end pictus cat. They are currently in a 180 gallon and doing quite well. Im just tired of him picking off my other fish one by one. The last straw was when he ate a 10" bichir. Im in Jim Thorpe, PA and prefer pick up because I never shipped fish and Im not sure he would like shipping because he is fussy. Thanks

Also, make sure you have a big enough tank please

very nice! he ate your 10 bichir??? i would def pick it up right now if i had the room in my tank, but i gotta clear out a couple of fish first. bump for you

Yep, I walked by one day and saw his stomach was huge. Im talking almost 3" wide. I look around and cant find the bichir. I netted him and tried to force regurgitation and saw the head but he was already dead. The next day, the half digested body was laying on the sand. That was the second bichir, the first one I saw the the shark grab him in half and shake it around and let go. That night the bichir commited suicide and jumped out.

I should note, the shark loves shrimp pellets but sometimes its not enough.
In an month and a half he ate 14 silver dollars, 12 cory cats, 1 angelic loach, 1 senegal bichir, 2 angel fish and 1 roseline torpedo barb.

I guess because I got them together. They were the same size, about 2". They been friends since, always swimming together.
The rest of the tankmates are
4 gourami
1 scared silver dollar
1 black syn cat(not sure what kind)
1 roseline torpedo barb
3 angelic loaches
2 12 bar loaches
2 crayfish

I dont understand how the gouramis dont get picked off when the silver dollars do?

If he were mine, I'd let him pick of the rest of the fish and keep him and the pictus alone.

If nobody wants him maybe Ill do that. What would you put in with him, its a 180 tank?

Big fish are messy, thats why I never got anymore big ones after they died. My other big ones were an albino cat and a couple of large plecos

Go with some big cichlids who aren't scared to fight. Dovii and anything parachromis. Anything nandopsis too. Cichlosoma as well. And, Caquieta.

Parachromis, nandopsis, cichlosoma and caquieta are names of the genus to which those fish belong to. There's just to many species to mention. But if you do a quick google search you will find out.

Also big cats, like red tail catfish, tiger shovelnose, red tail catfish x tiger shovelnose hybrid. Again a lot more info out there. You just need to find it.

Hell, black rhoms (piranhas) too.

Largemouth bass. Peacock bass.

Possibly rays.

Wolf fish.

Big datnoids.

Arowanas

Gars

There's a lot of possibilities out there. You can create an awsome tank. But I can't tell you what you should get that's up to you. But just look around on MFK.

And since you're in PA, best and most likely closest vendor is Rapps. Can't go wrong with him.
