hey the iridescents are the cute ones right? at like 12" with the big eyes.
what about the paroons? i saw pictures of a santiwongsei but the eyes were small and looked kinda scary(but cool).

anyone keep any pangasius? you got any pics of ones close to a foot?

When just 1 foot in size, they arent even full grown. IMO paroons have nicer fins (Dorsal) and iridescent sharks are more skittish.
This is a 13" Iridescent Shark.

do they both have big eyes at 12"?
i noticed when they hit 3', both of their eyes don't look too big and cute..

yeah i like the long fins on the santi too.

You havent seen anything untill you've met a large, mature Giant Gourami. Has a face only a mother could love. Although young GG's arent impressive, they still hold a certain charm.
Back on topic... When I last visited my public aquarium, UnderWater World, they had some twelve to fifteen 3-4ft Iridescent Sharks with pretty average eyes. Not ugly IMO.

I like the giant gouramis...the black eyes and the frankstein look makes it cute..since it's a fish...lol

but when the sharks are that big(1') what do I feed them? like a whole bottle of flakes a day?lol

Unless you are prepared to provide a multi-thousand gallon tank for these active and skittish guys, do not even think of purchasing one.
Also, feeding a bottle of flakes would almost guarentee extremely foul water. Think smart. Think frozen pellets and shrimp.

:) 14" eating Frozen market shrimp, smelt (both vitamin supplimented) Frozen brine, NLS XL Fish Form, HBH super soft krill pellets, peas, HBH super soft spirulina pellets, And anything else that makes it past the top feeders..

how much does it cost to feed yours monthly?
