I was wondering, do you guys think that a pitbull pleco (Parotocinclus jumbo) would be able to live in my ten gal community? From what I've read they only get about three inches. Is this correct? I'm having quite a bit of algae buildup on my driftwood and the back glass of my aaquarium and I'm looking for a fish that will eat it.

my opion would be to get a bristlenose of some kind. they will take care of the algae.

I second the otto cats, or maybee some siamese or chinese algae eaters. But save the plecos for a larger tank. just my opinion.

I'm a total noob :( What is an Oto cat?

otos are small suckermouth catfish. They do a excellent job of cleaning the tank, but you will need to get several of them. I would get maybee 3 of them. And they normally cost a buck or two, so they are cheap and pretty hardy.

They do an excellent job with certain types of algae, but a small shoal (they're schooling and playful) of Otos is FAR superior in a small tank. They're also much more active during the day.
