Have a weird situation with one of my parrots, Boss. He was separated from the display tank due to bullying, stress spots and the development of a single white dot over his right gill "flap" on the edge. Periodically he would rub the right gill only. So I treated him for ich for 8 days with medication. It never appeared on his fins or body, no clamped fins and his appetite was good. Dot was gone for 5 days but now seems to be reappearing in the exact same spot, one dot. I am now treating him with Tetra Lifeguard. He looks healthy and digs around his tank. Have no idea if this is a secondary infection, scar, or bacteria...I gave him salt dip before the first ich treatment which may have irritated the right gill. It was red for a day then returned to normal. He has been near the filter lately with his nose touching the sponge. Since its a small quarantine tank I do small w/c daily and vaccum the substrate as often. But I'm at a loss here. :wall:

Here's a pic. You can see the white bulge thing in the middle of his gill...he seems completely unaffected by it, but I will continue the 5 day treatment of LifeGuard. It went down some after the first treatment. In the front face pic you can see the pimple to the right...as you can see he isn't starving at all, lol...about the size of a baseball. He's actually the smallest one.Boss 2.jpg Boss 213 (2).jpg

That's the thing...there's no flashing or abnormal behavior at all...at some angles it looks like scar tissue. Am I using a good treatment for his gill? I want to do the full dosage of LifeGuard.

Update...after day 2 of Lifeguard treatment, the pimple has shrunk further! Boss is doing fine after polishing off several Hikari pellets and lots of Bug Bites pellets minutes ago. So maybe it was just an injury / nick that needed help to resolve itself. Treament continues until Sunday.
