Hi. I have a 40 gallon and have recently gotten a few new fish, one brought ick to my tank. My Parrot Cichlid has it pretty bad. I have treated for three days with QuICK Cure, and she is still pretty bad. I am going to do the 25% water change as it recommends and then treat for another three days but my concern is that she is not very active and I am noticing a few dots on her gills, which I have read is usually a death sentence.. Is there any possibility that she could survive?? I am getting a new tank to keep new fish in for QT since I had given my old one away. But that didnt help me this time. Yes I was stupid and impatient, but I just wanna get this treated now, so any other advice?? Thanks.

Well, the parrot is still alive, but not happy. I find QuICK Cure to be a garbage product, and got a new product today. Started it tonight. I'm hoping that it helps her overnight, it is supposed to be fast acting, but I suppose we will see. Does anyone know if the malachite green helps in some way or if its just for color?

I believe it does help against curing the disease, I doubt its just for color/looks. Is this the product your trying now? http://www.drsfostersmith.com/images/Categoryimages/normal/p-927030-aquarium-supplies.jpg

This product works pretty good as well, http://0.tqn.com/d/saltaquarium/1/0/q/O/1/RidIch.jpg

I hate the products that contain malachite green, they can stain your silicone, air tubing, and more

Ok, this seems to have really been hard on the fish, can I do a 25% or 50% water change?? Would that be better for them, or would that just create more stress?
