for the last 3 days now, my BP has been staring face first into the red light that comes from the heater.:screwy::screwy::screwy:

he'll leave to try to chase someone away, or to eat when i feed, but goes right back to the heater. prior to this, he's shared a cave peacefully with my BGK since i added them. only change has been i removed my jag the day before this happened, yet he was only in the 75g for about a week.

could the parrot be depressed or something that he dosent have the jag beating on him now?? the parrot WAS king of the tank before the jag was added, now he's acting like the whimp:confused:

He probably took a shot that he could not defend, and it sent him into that state...I have had this happen...Put him in a spare tank to recover his confidence...He should be ok as long as he is right side up :)

I have a Uaru that stares at the bubbles in the overflow box ALL DAY unless I am feeding. He sits at the back center of the tank where I have a dual overflow box hanging and watches the bubbles and water run into the overflow. If other fish come near he chases them away and goes right back to looking at the bubbles.

whats the temp of your tank? sometimes fish will hang out by a heater if the water is colder then they prefer.

tank temp goes down to 80 at night, and rises to 81/82 during the day.

seems strange that he starts this the day i take the jag out that dethroned him. gettin kinda worried bout him

well now, suddenly tonight the BP has been lip-locking and dancing in what seems to be mating behavior with my FHxBP.

could staring at the heater for days on end have anything to do with breeding?? dosent make any sense why it would to me

nevermind. we've been back at the heater all night/morning now:screwy:

LOL I cant help but laugh. I have had bp for 8 years and off and on for years they hang out at the heater. My husband will tell me hey you need to check your tank temp and it will be fine so if you figure out the deal with the heater let me know. Both sets of my parrots do this in their respective tanks.???? LOL
