So ive had this parrot fish with my pbass for about 5 or 6 months now and theyve always been really good together. The parrot usually just follows the pbass around like a lost puppy. But lately the parrot has taken up a spot on the left side of the tank and any time the pbass gets around midtank she chases home off and then runs back over to the same spot. I'm wondering if he/she is doing some sort of spawning, i have a loose sandy substrate with rounded stones scattered around and it looks like the parrot has made a shallow bowl in the substrate. Any clues?

my female parrot has tried to breed with a male parrot, a geophagus brasiliensis, a female salvini, a male flowerhorn(which worked), and a male texas (they ate the eggs). the females can't help laying eggs. they have a serious need to procreate. i am suprised that the p bass puts up with her. i have never kept one, but our native bass are really aggro.
Yea my pbass just lets her do her thing, hes actually quite gentle. Except with food lol. The parrot is also trying to push my senegal around but he doesnt give a hoot. He just keeps rooting around in her area.
Female parrots will lay eggs wether or not they have a mate, sounds like she has preparred a nesting site to lay.
