ok. i dont know what it means by monster fish. so im not sure if you guys know about parrot fish but here goes. i got 2 parrot fish from walmart. very healthy. i have one hiding place for them but i dont think i like it in there because all they do is hide. i dont like it. i would like it if they would just stay out and swim around. do they always hide or will they get used to it. i got them 5 or so days ago. i dont like it . all i want is for them to come out. please help.

What size tank are they in? The wont hide when they get hungry enough to come out and eat. However if their not feeling the setup, they may return to hiding afterwards.
I wouldn't worry about it to much, once they are hungry enough they will lose their shyness.
Whenever I move my parrots to a new tank, they are extremely shy for a week or two. Once they are used to you feeding them they will come out immediately.
The parrots I keep in my main tank still swim away really scared whenever I enter the room but will quickly swim back to the front waiting for food.

it takes a while for them to settle down. moving is stressful to fish and stress to fish is more serious than human stress. what size tank are they in? has it been running for a long time or is everything new?
