im new at this like i said. well i recently bought a parrotfish, its not a blood parrot but one of those dyed ones and its really red(idk if that helps you). well i put in in the tank with my lutino oscar and Amphilophus Sagittae (black devil). the amph. and oscar have been there for quite some time. the parrot is slightly smaller than the oscar and hes is just beatin it up and locking jaws with both of the fish. ive never had a problem like this before. is this normal? the oscar has a couple of scrapes he hasnt had before. the parrot also just attacks and then hides behind a rock i have in the tank all day. i hear strange noises along the gravel in the night as well when all the lights and tank lights are off. should i maybe throw in some melafix to help the oscar? help would be much appreciated :help2:

Any time you introduce new fish, there are going to be disputes, especially when it's territorial fish such as cichlids, even more especially when they are near the same size. There will be some establishment of dominance. They will most likely nick each other up a bit. Just keep an eye on them and make sure it doesn't go from nicks and scratches to gashes and open wounds. The simple wounds will easily heal.

one way to cut down on aggression when you add new fish is to rearrange the tank and add more than one fish at a time. parrots don't really have any weapons so keep an eye on the tank so it doesn't get killed. it may just take a while for them to establish a new pecking order.

hahah i added a few feeders and a pleco with him, but hes beatin up all the other fish, which surprises me. the whole cycle runs backwards, teh oscar chases the amph, and the parrot chases them all, even my pleco beats up the crayfish, which only has like 2 limbs left =P haha
