Picked this up today-you don't often see them here for sale in the UK. About 7" long. First Cichlid I've bought in a long time but I couldn't resist it when I saw it today

Does he have take mates? If so what are you keeping him with?

I have a 4" wildcaught one of these. It's a really cool fish yet skitish he still is unsure of me like a wild animal. My other fish swim up when I come in The room. This guy swims away. If Im still he comes out and shows off even will pose for the camera. I would say it's one of my weirdest fish as far as personality goes.

I saw one in Wharf Aquatics in Nottingham and it must have been about 7-8" but it had gray pits on his head so I didn't get him as I thought it might be HITH. Beautiful fish though.

Thats where I got it-I had a god look and just looked now but no sign of HITH. Am going to make sure my water stays tip-top.
