Could I safely put a Parrot with GTs and FHs? I posted this in hybrid, but only got 1 answer that said "But, FH's and GT's maybe a bit too tough for parrots IMO." Is that correct? Does anyone have any experience mixing them? This thread decides wether or not my wife gets a pair of Parrots.

The tank is a 120. The other fish are mixed sexes, and between 2-4.5". The Parrot Cichlids my wife wants are about 4", and don't know if we will get male and female, how do you tell? The tank has been up and running for almost 2 months.

I have never kept a FH or GT but I have heard they can be pretty aggressive. I have 4 parrots and maybe it's strange but mine are very kind and gentle to their tankmates. I guess you could try it and have another tank ready just in case but seeing how my parrots are I don't think I'd try it.

it really depends on personality of all the fish, my bp's will take on any other fish in the tank, and fight with a 18" gibby pleco daily. but i think an agro FH will take out a bp if it wants too.

Like the member above said, it really depends on the fish. The 2-3'' parrots I own use to take bites out of an aro more than five times their size and is currently house in a tank with a pair of 8'' oscars. Not a single problem occured. Then again, I had another parrot a while back who sort of hid in the corner all day.

It depends on the fish you have. It might work, it might not.
