I noticed that 2 of my parrots color are fading from orange to a light white/pink color. I raised the temp from 79 to 82 degrees. Any suggestions on how to restore thier color? I do weekly 50% water changes.

I'd put the temp back down.. just to check if that was it.. or maybe they are trying to spawn.. mine always changed colors.. for different reasons.. good luck!

No lower 80s is a better temp.

Yes if they are breeding the male will get lighter in color and the female will darken. I would check you water to see what your ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates are.

I used to have a big pair and they would always fade to a pinkish light hue when they are in spawning mode. this is how I would know eggs are coming.

ps. the males are infertile, so unless you breed a female BP with a male other cichlid you won't get babies.
