I've gone through a few stressful days. Our dog Nacha was sick for a couple of days so i took her to the vet at Petsmart.Turned out she had Parvo:( .They said it would cost $800-1000 for treatment.I asked if I could pay it out and they kindly declined. So after about an hour of calling around, I found a vet that would give me some slack.Long story short, after a 2 night stay at the vet, she's back home crapping on the carpet as usual:D .

If you but a puppy, do yourself and the dog a favor and get it's shots as soon as possible.

Parvo will take down small dogs quickly. The incubation period is two weeks and it is extremly contagious. Keep him away from any unvacinated dog. This virus is a nightmare in the LFS and we unfortunatley suffer one or two outbreaks a year.

I am glad he is doing better.

I got a lot of info from the vet and his staff.Parvo can live in your yard for a year.I was also told not to get another puppy for at least 6mo.For those that don't know, Parvo is a virus that attacks the intestines. The dog will continuosly vomit and have diarrhea, causing dehydration.Basically it craps itself to death. They are often given IV fluids to stay hydrated until their immune system gets rid of the virus.

I was lucky because my dog is about 6mo old(many get it younger). And also my dog is a mutt so it has a stronger immune system.
