Introducing my first clutch of pastels! They hatched out a few weeks ago if you remember the thread...

All are have had their first sheds and are feeding on their own with enthusiasm. I couldn't have asked for this first round of babies to go any smoother.
 
Wow they are looking amazing! That first shed really brought their colors out........If your first clutch looks this good I can't wait to see your later ones...........Keep up the good work dude..........

The first shed absolutely does! Its interesting because the outermost layer of skin forms before all of the pigment sets in during development, so their first shed is completely clear, like a hypo or an albino. Each shed after that though, shows pigment as it normally would. They basically have to get rid of that "baby skin" to really show what's underneath!
