I was lucky enough to get some free commercial DAS setups several years back. They’ve been fine with no troubles until the other day. I had been running one bare bottom then added sand. A couple of weeks later I noticed I was topping it off more. Then it started leaking like crazy. The ~70 gallons would have drained in less than 2 hours. I noticed along the back wall there are 2 gouges. Do you think I could get by with patching the gouges and putting a light coating of silicone over the rest? I’m terrible at caulking and am not up for the project of pulling all the seams and starting over.

Post some pictures. But I can tell you putting fresh silicone over the old silicone isn’t the right way to do it. Resealing a tank might seem over your head but trust me it’s a job anybody can do. The hard part is scraping off the old silicone, the easy part it’s taping off some lines and running a thick bead down it and smoothing it out with your finger.
