1) Are there any species of payara that can live for life with a clown knife?

2) Are there any species of payara that can live for life with a black ghost knife?

3) Are there any species of payara that can live for life with datnoids, severums, leopard ctenopoma, clown loaches?

4) Are there any species of payara that can live for life with a fire eel?

I have all of these fish save the clown knife. I am thinking of swapping the BGK for a CK. I saw some payaras today and am thinking of adding one to the tank. If it can go with my stock without me having to get rid of too many of my fish, I may get one.

1--No CK's get big and aggressive. Armatus may or may not work. All others NO

2-- yes , scombs and Tats would be fine 99% of the time.

3--Dats may cause problems when larger than the payara.

4-- Fire eels get as big as a grown mans arm. 3"+ in diameter and 3ft long and they are specialized predators. Does that answer your question?

Payara are delicate. Best to keep them as the main focus of the tank. BGKs I'd say no issue to any Payara species. Dats and CKs would be silly to risk in my opinion. Both can be very mean. You are probobly looking at either Scombs or Rhaphs, which would be best kept with smaller fish. The Fire eel I feel would be just fine provided the eel is wayyyyy too small to eat the Payara. You get a 2' eel with a 3 inch Payara then it'll be lunch.
