armatus or not? that is the question im asking myself. i had the non armatus and sold them but i am thinking of getting a true armatus but until i see pics of some 2 foot monsters in aquaria then i guess ill hold off. If anyone does have one id like to know how long it took to reach that size in captivity. yes they have big teeth at small size but just arent impressive as those monster u see them catch out there in venezuala. thats what i want

The grow FAST to the 12" mark or so.
I dont think enough have been kept here in the states do get good data on growth rates for the long term.

I believe R1's passed the 18 in mark in a little over a year but it also started off at like 8-10 inches.

There's plenty of info on growth rates up to the present time....just gotta look in the right spot.
