Payara freaking out

Hi I need help with my red tail payara he is about eight in now has been just weaned off live food eating tilapia I come home the other night and he's acting really skittish all the sudden and swims around the tank with his mouth touching the bottom of the tank whenever I go near it or drop food in or he gets spooked he has never been like this for the year that I've had him and now he just has a blank stare in his eyes did he bumped his head and is recuperating I've never had this happen before

He could have smashed into the glass. What are youre water parameters? And what has changed other than the foods?

Yep,could have gotten spooked at some point while you were out and knocked itself silly.

Water is fine hes been like this for two days now, has a weird blank stare in his eyes he just sits there until hes spooked then wriggles around the tank real fast on a huge angle with mouth on the bottom of tank then he will stop and looks normal, but he also wouldn't eat so last night I put feeders in and he ate them, everytime I put chunks of tilapia he would freak out again, also my wolf fish just sits there too and every now and then when he opens his mouth bubbles come out maybe that has something to do with oxygen? But I have a good pump wave maker and fluval canister
