I was wondering if Payara are fast\good healers, because I guess my new Red Tail went through his initiation from the dat pack last night and his tail is a little beat up.

He is fine and hasnt been bothered all day and even out swimming not hiding, I was just wondering if these guys heal up ok.

i dont know too much about payara but if the other fish quit beating him up he should be fine. if it gets too bad separate him and put antibiotics in his water

everything has stopped now. every new addition goes through it their first night unless they are really big, even my pbass went through it.

Hello, brand new to this site, saw your ? about payara healing. I had a payara a while ago, when i get new fish its always a tense mood around the tank to see how they adapt, but no fears, he got beat up pretty bad by a red tail barracuda, his fins were beat up pretty bad but he healed fine. He took revenge on a goliath tiger that i got, tiger fish is still fine a year later. Sure do miss my payara, any pics you can load?

thanks Channa

My Armatus will occasionally take a swipe at my tat or scomb leaving a scar or a small gash on em,I keep the water change schedule up and keep the tank clean so theres no wound infection while they heal.

I picked up the other guy with the damaged tail, I think it was shipping damage. I will post picks later because I would like to know if he will be 100% again, he can still swim fine just looks bad.
