FINALLY GOT ME SOME PAYARA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Picked up four 4"ers. I'm pretty sure three of them are scombs, but one of them might be a tat. The mark by the gill plate is diff and the shape is slightly diff. I'm far from bein an expert at Id payara (Read as dont know JACK) and would like the opinion of the experts here at MFK. The one with 3 is the ones I think are scomb. The two pics with one are the other.

Armatus indeed... I guess they are coming in now maybe as contaminants.

Im off to a LFS about 35min away that usually carries scombs in hopes that there are any "contaminants"! Wish me luck!

Cangratulations bro. Armatus have larger fins, bright orange adipost(sp?) fins, a white edge on the fins, thicker bodies and teeth, swim straight (most of the time), and have less of an angled mouth (more streamline with the rest of the fish). Did you go in and pick it out, or did you order online from TFD?

Oh, and thery have a different color tail. Did you buy him as a scomb or a tat?
