Is there a payara other than armatus that doesn't swim at a 45 degree angle? I thought yellow tail payara don't but not totally sure.

From pics I've seen red tail/scomb swim at a 45 degree angle...

bump anyone know?

Wish I could help ya bro.. Unfortunately the only payara I have experience with is the Armatus:)

Damn it chris.. thought you would know. lol I'm guessing not too many people know yellow tails is the problem.

Do you have animosity for fish that swim at 45 degrees. You will just have to track down an armatus.

lol yeah.. my real concern with armatus is the fast growing size/appetite possibly for other tank mates.

And no fish that swim at 45 degree angles are not attractive to me... They look like their head is too heavy. :)

Good luck finding any Armatus :irked:

Yellowtails=Redtails (so I am told)

I think it is going to depend on the individual fish as to how they swim.

I have 5 Redtails. Out of the 5 only 1 swims at 45 degrees. All the rest swim normal. I think the only reason the 1 does is cause it's the little guy and is trying to be incognito.

I have had 3 Rhaphiodons, still have 2. None of them have swam at 45.
