i have two 6-7 inch armatus right now in my tank and i have a bad alagea prob would it be okay to add a four inch royal pleco to the tank becuase i heard they could suck slime coat of fish but i also have 4 large sds in the tank but if the royal is well fed on alagea, driftwood and cucumber will it be okay, also my armatus amazingly ignore all the other fish in the tank except themselves but they do keep the others in check for example my sds dont fight anymore with them in there

Just remember large plecos create large amounts of waste, creating more decomp and increasing harmful gases, something toothed Characins can't live in. Most plecos will graze on specific algaes not all as juvi's however this trend generally stops as they get older. As for sucking the slime coat - a pissed off adult Royal is certainly capable but nothing is written in stone. The smaller Rubber lipped Pleco is a species that will eat a wider variety of algaes than the Royal and it's size won't fowl the water. However the rubber lipped is small enuff it might become dinner. I'd look into decreasing direct sunlight, replace the bulbs annually, and increase oxygen to combat algae issues. Your gonna get algae basically everytime you introduce protiens, water, and sunlight - life happens.
