 Well I posted on this site about 20 days ago, that I was having trouble with a XP3 that I received damage from an eBay auction. I got some great advice from subscribers to this site; unfortunately, Pay pal denied the claim. This was my first Pay pal transaction, has anybody read there so called buyer protection program it's so full of holes, it is not worth the html it is written in. In addition, what customer service, you cannot speak to anybody what a joke of a company. Well enough of my rant!

There was some good that came out of it, I met an online vendor from http://www.planetrena.com/... i didn't even buy the filter from one of his auctions but the President of the company personally wrote me a letter explaining to Papypal the damages and the effective replacement costs. When a vendor is good let's hear it for them, give them props and support their ebay auctions..:headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2

Thank goodness that there are still some nice people out there. PayPal is both a very good and very bad thing. I've used it with no real issue to date, however I still have that "ticking time bomb" feeling with all of the horror stories I hear.

Did you try and settle the issue up with the eBay seller? Also, do you know if the shipment was insured. If it was damaged in shipping you could take it up with the shipping company. If it was sent via FedEx ground, you're really out of luck. I had a big run-in with them and came out a loser. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

should have got a ehiem then you wouldnt have had any trouble :grinyes:

What do you mean you can't talk to anyone? I have called Paypal a few times myself and spoke to a rep each time with little to no wait. No I am not saying they are the most helpful, but I did speak to someone :P

When paypal does nothing to resolve your claim aganst a fradulant purchace. contact the bank you use and dispute the charges that paypal forwarded to your account. Because they did not properly protect your interest in the sale as per their aggreement as funds transfer agent it is their responsiblity to insure that the sale was successfull and both parties are satisified and that one of the parties has not been wronged or misrepresented.

Advise your bank that you did not recive the item in the condition aggreed upon and that you have done everything you can to correct the situation with the seller directly.
You banks review of the situation will force paypal to address the issue or incur the cost of the sale.

Ebay seller non-reponsive, shipped usps, came in box crushed, denied improperly packed for shipment..FYI

 I don't even think an ehiem could survive being shipped by the US Postal Service, plus it was shipped in it's retail box. The postal service used the box in a hockey game, by the shape it was in when I received it.......
