hey guys i've got a p bass that i.ve had for over a month now. when i got him he was about three inches and only ate live. he is now about five inches and was completly converted to shrimp. he had been on shrimp only for the past two weeks. now he hits the shrimp and spits them out. he's been doing this for two days now. should i be worried? how long should i starve him, if at all? should i break down and feed him some live to keep his aggresion gowing? any idea on why he would just quit eating the shrimp? he spits out worms too? any help would be greatly appreciated.

dont go to long not feeding a couple more days maybe trying to give shrinp. Then give live.Out of curiosity what is your amonia and nitrite levels? Also temperature?

at that size he should be fine with not eating for a few days. give it a week. are there other fish in the tank to encourage him to eat? I'd hate to revert him back to live after being converted. is he acting normal otherwise?

amonia and nitrite are perfect. water temp 82f. Ph was a litlle low. what ph do you recommend? my fs recommends 6.5. would low ph cause this? he attacks it like he has for the past two weeks now he just chews for a second and spits it out? i would think if he was stressed due to low ph, he just would try to eat at all? thanks for the help.

he's acting normal, greeting me at the tank like a eager, hungry puppy. He's just chewing and spitting it out after he hits it. he has no other tank mates other than a plecko. What are good tank mates to help with this?

could be hes just bored with the food change it up!try tilapia cut up in little bits or bloodworms ETC. by perfect you mean ) o amonia and o nitrite ? sorry to keep stressing this but in the short time i have been in the game its very important?

If he's acting normal you should be fine. any fish not big enough to eat or get eaten by the pbass is a good tank mate. I think he's just bored of the food but he'll come to
