so i am still in the planning stage of what fish i want to keep
when i get my tank build done. i am going to have rays and would like
to keep some pbass and an arowana also. If possible i would like to add
the pbass and arowana at the same time. i mainly see pbass @ 2-4" for
sale and arowana @ 6" for sale. what would be a good size to be able to
put these guys in the tank together so their growth rate is proportional
to each other and they dont try to eat one another? i have plenty tanks
if needed to grow one or both out to a suitable size. your thoughts and/
or personal experiences?

Thanks

I would get 9" peacock bass and a smaller 6" or so arowana. The arowana will grow very fast, reaching 18" within a year and the bass will hit around 12" after a year. I'd keep the arowana separated until it adds some size

Thanks, so then i should get the pbass and set them up in a grow out tank say like 3 months before i get the arowana. would it be safe to add them together to the main tank when they both hit around the 9" mark?

not with jardini mine will kill everything
jardini is one mean killing machine

Well when the time comes around a black aro might be in the works.

Dudes right jardini will make light work of juvi bass , if your dead set on having bass its either risk a jardini and get much bigger bass (which is very risky ) or go for a black or silver aro there so much more placid when it comes to bass as tankmates

Sorry didn't see you were talking about a jardini. I wouldn't put those two together but a silver or black wouldn't be a problem with the peacocks. Again introduce them around 9" as they will have enough size to not get eaten

I had a jardini with P bass for a few years. I had three bass around 10" in the big tank and added a 12" bass, a 12" flag tail and the 10" jardini all at the same time. It worked great and I had zero issues of aggression. As it turned out I got lucky and got one of the nice jardinis. At one point it was around 20" and lived happily with 5" african cichlids. You'll never know till you try, just be prepared to separate them if necessary.
