Right now I have a 6" lentculata pike and 5 3-4" mono peacock bass, but they are in separate tanks. I was thinking about moving them into the same tank when the bass hit the 6" mark. Has anyone kept a pike with a group of peacock bass before? Is this a good idea?

I would try it and see what happens because they say with aggressive fish, you can never be sure they'll get along unless you try it.

yummy yummy yummy I got a pike in my tummy

I have to agree with toxicfish here. My monocs would often try to eat my TSN that was only slightly shorter than they were so I had to move him. If you kept the pbass very well fed, you may be in luck, but you just never know. All it would take would be one of them giving the pike a little nip and if it takes off, they would instinctually be all over it.

seen them together.. they should get along as longas hes not size that he can become food

My Mamorata killed 2 out of 3 monos that were housed in a 180 together ... I guess you could try and see what happens

if he wont fit the p.bass mouth i think that there isnt any problem. but to know for sure you have to try

I kept my pikes with my orinocensis when they were still small...but the pbass will eventually out grow the pikes, and then it will be lunch. However, if you get a larger pike, like lent. (which you have), marm., venz. or the like, your chances are much better as these pikes get LARGE and are thick!!

I have a footlong pair of Cr. acutirostris in with a group of 8, 6" PBass. They get along great. I'm under no illusion however that this is a long term relationship...
