Anyone have any good advise as to what kind of bottom dweller I can drop in my tank to help pick up any left over food? I have a bare bottom tank and my bass are infamous for spitting out food after they take it in for whatever reason. Curious on if there a decent bottom feeder I can add to the mix that will pick this up.

Or would it be beneficial to get a canister filter and put it right at the bottom of the tank to suck up the food?? The tank is a drilled 120g grow out (4x2x2) and has a sump filtering 1800gph (15x turn over rate), and it has slots in the bottom and middle for food and stuff but doesn't seem to pick it up. The food is hikari gold plus as my fish won't eat anything that sinks.

How big are the bass. I don't there will be an issue. I typically see them available for about $10 and inch. They are fast growers but they are very active as well and the lights don't bother them like most catfish. I bought mine about 6 months ago at 6" and he's now 16". Probably my favorite fish. I like to stick to south American cats with a Niger cat. My flag tails do a great clean up job too. No Bag on Giraffes they just aren't SA.

My geos keep my tank spotless lol. You would probably want some sand though my growouts going bare bottom but they'll be moved to sand eventually

Ill look around at these suggestions today for sure.

The bass are about 8-10 inches right now guesstimate. I have a 12 inch sticker on the tank so thats kind of how i judge them lol
