I want to add my 8-9 inch channel cat to my bass tank but do not know if they would kill/eat him. My bass are around 15 inches (Ocell and Orino). They have only been rough with each other in the past. Anyone have experience with this while introducing your young catfish to the tank?

Very good chance the cat would end up as food. Especially if he was a fast moving cat, them bass get excited over fish that swim very fast. In my tank it happened a lot. My female festae would scatter and the chase was on. Your cat would easily fit in either one of their mouths so is your choice.

A cat can hardly be compared to a festae when being housed with cichla. A festae looks like and is a tastey treat. The 9" channel cat should be fine in your tank. It is a slow moving bottom dweller. It may get picked on at first but will not become a meal. Your cichla pick on eachother because its natural. Like having an argument with your wife.

Yes he is a big boy. No doubt he could fit in their mouth but I think the cat's spines would get them. I might try tomorrow and see what happens. Probably critical to make a spot under a big rock or something to hide from them at times.
