Pbass fishing in hawaii

Mite be heading out to the main island in june. Any good places to fish for pbass? Heard theyre all private places or something. Anyway i cud bring some back legally?
 
What do you mean by main island? Oahu, Maui, Big Island. Honolulu is on Oahu. Some consider that the main island. If that's where you are going then Lake Wilson is where you want to go. Catch and release only. Permit can be obtained at the WalMart there.

Confirmed it being Honolulu....is it catch and release only everywhere on them?
