I currently have a RTCxTSN @ 4", a Channel Cat @ 4.75", and a TSN @ 3.75". My LFS just got some Mono Pbass in the other day and I wanted to get a couple. My question is will the 3" Pbass be able to grow fast enough to keep from being food to the big cats? They are only $10 a pop, so not to much of a great lose if they do get eaten. So will they or won't they become a $10 feeder?

I can always keep them in the 125 until they are big enough for the pond. I just don't want to have to move fish around.

cat fish would eat them for sure. 3" bass are really small, bass bodies get thicker and wider as they grow and a 3" is tiny and the catfish would eat it like a guppy!

Edit: had a 15"+ rtc with a 12" arowana, the RTC opened his mouth cause like a suction thing SNAPED the aro right in half and swallowed it.....later he was to full so he regurgitated it....

Yep, your cats are going to grow at a monsterous rate. If the cats and PBass grew at a similar rate, I'd say, "Go for it!" But in this case, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Ha, I know how fast they grow, they RTCxTSN alone has gone over an inch a week since I have had him. The TSN and Channel cats are new, so the Pbass will just have to go in the 90 Gallon for now.

Never kept pbass so I'm no help on that side but my (still very young) tsn has doubled in size in the two months I've had him and eats anything that will fit in his mouth so I would be skeptical of putting pass in there.. big cats grow big quick and eat it all. Don't see pbass having much of a chance in the long run.. just my 2 cents
