I've tried dmacks method for getting them off live but was unsuccessful tried again still no luck. my 2 pbass are nearing 5"-5.5" im thinking after i finish the rest of the feeders i currently have on hand which is about 30 or so i was just gonna starve them til they take pellets coz sometimes they'll strike once it hits water but after a few seconds it recognizes its not fish and spits it back out. my Q is how long could i starve the fish without it effecting them too much or longest period of time? 4 days to a week? or longer?

you can go for a week to 2 weeks...no longer than that. I would personally just don't feed them for 4 days to a week and then toss a pellet in and see if it eats it.

i've always had the best luck by keeping some form of dither fish that will voraciously attack artificials. with my peacocks i used silver dollars. the SD's would devour small cichlid pellets after a couple day fast, and the aggresive nature of the PB's comes out. I have used this method with many a cichlid, wild caught etc. the sight of another fish devouring the food usu. helps the natural instinct to out compete another for food.

Very true, this is how mine did it when I introduced bloodworms. They saw the little one going to town and joined in.

ive tried also dmack's way and was kind of successful my pbass are about 5-7inches and are taking bloodworms once they drop, now im trying to get them also on shrimp and the other day drop a couple and seen one eat so its working just dont give up, next will be pellets
