Eventually (as in, a year or more) I plan on getting a monster tank and I have been thinking of what kinds of monsters I would like to have. My question is, can you house a PBass with friendly type cichlids such as Eartheaters? Super vague question but just trying to grab a scope on the actual territorial aggressiveness of the Pbass.

yeah i have done it and have seen it done in many tanks. of course, the eartheaters have to be too large for the cichla. it works best if you have a few cichla, that way they are more interested or concerned with each other instead of the peaceful fish.

I thought I had seen this done in a video once and this is why I asked. Its probably best to have the Eartheaters settled in the tank and grown out then add the juvenile cichla once they reach approx 6" or so I am guessing. Never housed either but both fish seem incredibly beautiful.

Yea i would just buy the eartheaters atleast 6" larger than the pbass if your going to do this i would suggest. especially in a large tank and thinking of growing one out cuz they will grow in a large tank, really fast if you feed it normally.

Probably end up buy eartheater fry and raising them up for a year or so and when they reach 6" get the big tank up and running and start raising up the Pbass. I really like the looks of mono Pbass. SO pretty.
