Somewhere???
Just got a pair, about 1 inch each. I think theyre the Ocelaris. My question is, has anyone noticed with juvies (or even adults) a weird sleeping habit. Its the first time ive seen it, but I came home at about 3 in the morning, and went to go check on my babies. I noticed one sleeping vertical with his belly near the heater, and the other one was floating on the surface on his side. I was ****ting cause i thought he was dead. Regretfully, I went to scoop him out with my hands, and when I touched him, he just bolted to the bottom of the tank. He looks ok, but I was just wondering if this is a regular sleeping position with these guys.
Thanks

that's weird, haven't seen that in my monoculus or temensis before.. maybe there just comfortable near the heater and they vertical to sort of camouflage themselves from predators?

That's very weird. I raise Ocellaris from wigglers. Typically, they all head to the bottom of the tank and cluster when young, up to two inches when the lights goes out.

However, I keep them in large groups. Could be typical behaviour for them when isolated. Could be a camouflage thing.

My smallest Pbass does that, only when he gets scared. He goes between the sponge filter and the glass. I thought he was dead too when I saw that. He can stay like that for an hour.

might be a camoflauge defence

They might be stressed. I have seen juvies do the head stand position before.

What kind of conditions are you keepin' them in? I've heard of them doing this type of thing when the water was too cold.....
