Pbass question

So I've seem a shift in the hobby it seems that pbass seem to be growing in popularity more and more and having never kept one what are they like? I know they are ravinous eaters and quite attractive and quite unaggressive but what personality do they have and what makes them so popular?

YouTube has feeding videos. The way they feed got me hooked. Diesel Mack for his rare cichla (at the time) R1 for his pictures.

Pretty much the the rareness and the feeding habits got me hooked. And the people that enjoy the same passion I share with cichla.

The pics speak for themselves. R1 and dmack got me into them. And then once i saw Jcardona's tank in person i was hooked. Nothin like a tank full of monster cichla. It takes a while for them to really bloom...but once they do hold on...your in for a ride. The color and pattern changes in some cichla is just amazing! But dont be fooled by their beauty. They require a large tank w/ the utmost attention to water quality. And eat like a fat kid at a birthday party.
 
WARNING....Once your purchase one, the addiction begins, good luck.
 
Just look around at some of the photos in the pbass section or gallery and you will have the answer.
 
I didn't like the way my old 15 inch pbass jumped at the pellets and would get me (and the floor) wet every feeding. So I sold it and got a small 4 incher (now 6 inches). Really cool fish to raise IMO.

i have a 3.5 incher and was wondering what good tankmates would be
 
I have two one tem and one mono and i absolutely love them! I have been an aro enthusiast for many years but after watching youtube vids i was hooked!!!
I currently have my tem in a tank with various tank mates and he seems to love everyone in the tank! He is playful though!
