What is the growth rate of pbass? are they easily trained onto pellets and are they territorially agressive ata young age? im talking 5cms/2". also i have seen lotsa peple keep them in groups as youngsters, are they schooling whilst they are juvenile

they grow fast, they are not easily trained on pellets, they are some what territorial at a young age... it is more like someone is the leader of the grooup, i dont know if i would say schooling but they deff will cruise together

no but yes.. i feel they do alot better when they are in groups and there colors will look better as well. ever keep a lone cichla? boring! they seem to be less active

it can be a pain to get them on pellets, try getting them on frozen stuff first and try pellets from there on out, wont be a good staple for them in the future however

i feed my cichla, a variety of live foods, crickets, roaches, goldies, tetras etc etc...the trick is to feed em frozen foods such as beefheart, bloodworm, in the mornings and live at night...that way they never get use to just 1 type of food...with good feeding/filtration cichla can easily grow up to an 1" a month...never the less the less often u feed the slower they will grow..so really it's up to u how fast they grow...i've slowed my feeding down...3 tems at 5-6" in 180 gallons wasnt gonna last long, but now ive slowed down so have they, which has bought me quite a bit of time... Good luck Bro
