my first question is that sometime i see my fish breathing hard, specially when they feed or get spooked. im not sure is its a problem or not but i want to make sure. second question is how long can my 3-4 inch fish go without eating? i have been trying to get the off of live food and i can get them to eat dead anything aslong as its fresh but they wont eat dry krill. i can trick them to eat it but then they always spit it out and advice.

First Q: Add more air in the tank.
Second Q: feed them as much as you can till they hit the 8'' mark then convert.

Q to you....what kinda bass you got?

Getting them to even try to eat it is a good start! Keep "tricking" them into eating the prepared foods. They may spit it out but keep trying. Eventually they will eat it.

thanks for the help. i have 4 monos all from the same fry. but this brings me to another question. when doing water change how much water is too much water to change at a time and how often can i change that much. for now i do 25% once a week but im concerned it might not be enought to keep up with the fish's eating and bio load.

you should be fine with that, ive heard of people doing 50% once a week

Sorry to derail but I'm thinking about getting some pbass not sure what kind yet but I have a 120 runnin right now and a 210 that will be up and runnin in about a year. how many could I put in the 120 right now for that duration and is the bio load really that bad? Oh yeah filtration is 2 ac110 and 1 xp3.

the bio load for me is pretty bad because i have 4 pbass in a tank that i dont even wanna say wut size. also i feed all day long whenever im bored and pass by my room i have a pretty much endless supply of feeders for now and i love watching them eat. but in ur case with a 120g and an up coming 210 u can do plenty. im not sure how much because they grow pretty big pretty fast but u should be able to have some fun with it.
