Pbass questions

What are some cheaper pbass species that are easy to keep?

Can they be in the same tank as a silver arowana?

Are they as easy to wean off of live food as some people make it seem?

The tank they will be in is a 560gal with 8x turnover and a ton of mechanical filtration.

mono and ocell are the cheapest and more common of cichla

with the tank and filtration you are eluding to..

you could keep cichla orinocensis, or cichla ocellaris with silver arowana. depending on the footprint of the tank the arowana may outgrow it though. i can't imagine a 500+ gallon tank that isn't at least 3' wide. sounds good to me. just don't get C. Temensis or Pinima they get too big.

thanks for the quick replies.

what about weening them off of live food, is it that hard?

they look like they would be a cool wet pet but I am trying to stay away from fish that need live food because the onlything I have easy accecss to is goldfish and I know they are unhealthy.

the younger you wean them off live food the easier it'll be..

yea sometimes you can get 15" mono/occel ones for like 25-50 bucks
