PBass still won't consume non live food

Hello All,

For those of you who have converted off of live food how did you do it? I've read the sticky and I'm following best practices but it doesn't seem to be working.

They will take the shrimp in and then immediately spit it out. Does this sound like norm when converting?

yep...normal. try to feed them freeze dried blood worms, then pellets, then shrimp and pellets. It worked for me. Any thing that floats and they hit, keep with it. Krill fill float, silver sides and so on. I hope it works out. What are they eating now?
 
just feeders, the really little ones so they'll eat 3 of 4 and so I tried to put one peace of shrimp in a cup and about 3 fish and poured it in as usual and they spit the shrimp.

so something floating is key?
 
Floating is What "I" did. Might work different for others. Stuff the feeders with bio gold and drop the feeder one at a time into the pbass tank. Then alternate, 1xfeeder then silver side.
 
Seems like its starting to work for you.. patience is the key..
 
Mine just took bloodworms for the first time today, and as soon as they ate the worms I dropped a couple pellets in, they spit them out. I tried again 15 min later and they ate them... But try bloodworms, I've been trying feeders and shrimp for a month now and they still won't touch shrimp....
 
hmm...
several have worked for me.
get the fish to know youre the food supplier.thats the key.
then you can try getting them used to handfeeding
then try handfeeding other foods once they eat out of your hand.
competition with other fish also works.
and of course the sticky way.
you can try dropping food into the powerhead to make it seem alive.
 
mine wouldn't eat non live until i put it in a pond i starved it for 3 weeks tho now it eats the most out all
 
mine hasn't ate in 5 days just fed some of my fish today and he took a cichlid stick i thought he was gona eat it but like inelms said he spit it out
