My fish room
I have never kept a Pbass before but would like to introduce one or two into a tank with my Dorado. The Dorado is 15" and aggressive. He has never killed another fish but he will bully whoever he can. He is currently in a tank by himself. My questions are: Is this a viable option? How large should the Pbass be pefore I introduce them to the Dorado? What type of Pbass do you recommend?

I would not recommend introducing another fish into a tank with a large aggressive fish. The peacocks are really not that aggressive. The ones I have are really laid back. I have heard orinos tend to have a little more aggression so if that is true I would recommend that. But only if the pbass is bigger than the dorado. I doubt you will be able to find an orino for sale at that size.

You know i am planning on doing the same but introducing a couple Dorado to my pbass I have talked to a couple OG's and they say the same is your tank big enough? Iwould say your tank should be at least 120x30x30 plenty of room but as always really it's a fish by fish gamble with that hot potatoe for sure ....

I'd say it would be a pretty big gamble. Dorados are very strong creatures, known to be aggressive. Even a larger cichla would likely be no match for a dorado intent on doing some azz kicking. All a cichla could do would be to try and run away, only with the limited space inside a tank, the chasing and banging would be relentless. Not the kind of stress and mayhem I would want in my tank. The cichla would probably start dying off one at a time from stress and injury. I've seen this kind of thing happen before.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I just did not want to be the debbie downer lol. Thank you for wording it better than I would.

My 8" dorado was eaten by 16" Xingu lol....
I think dorado is not really aggresive into cichlid, coz i keep a dorado mix with some cichlid such as severum, chocholate cichlid, some silver dollars and a brycon, he always attacks the brycon...coz maybe they are very similiar

I'll still get some pbass; they will just go into another tank. I am not a big risk taker with my fish. Thanks for the advice.
