ive been interested in pbass but have not ever kept them. i was wondering how they were with other cichlids in terms of aggression and what kind of fish they can be kept with.

i keep mine with a jardini, texas cichlid, polypterus, catfish, the only aggresion mine have ever shown was towards each other. the species i have are cichla ocelaris. can't say about other species
ive heard they are relativley chill with tankmates but i wanna check with people who have actually kept them because thats always the best info and more reliable than even an lfs, IMO.
dont keep them with anything they can fit in their mouths!!! other than that, theyre fine with most other fish. aggression is mainly between other cichla. and orinos/tems are some of the nastier ones
thats cool. the fish i have cant be eaten, and if i do pick one up it will go into a grow out until it picks up size. do they do ok by themselves or is it recommended to get several?
i have 4 right now .. all fry that im going to grow out .. but the rule will always stand .. if it can fit in there mouth .. its now a feeder .. but as far as pure aggression its nothing like cichlids. they are for the most part really chill fish.
