hello everyone, so I have an 10-11 inch PBB and he’s fair decent sized in terms of thickness and today my teugelsi arrived, it’s around 6 inch but fairly skinny in comparison. So the teugelsi is there chilling settling in and the PBB has come along and grabbed hold of the teugelsi almost by the rear, split is rear fin slightly and let go. Is this the PBB showing his dominance or is the PBB eventually going to eat the teugelsi. After that they’ve gone off and then come head to head again and the teugelsi was then rubbing up against the PBB, is this normal behaviour? Are bichirs cannibals? Just don’t want it to end in a disaster and fairly new to bichirs in general, the teugelsi came as a delivery so never got the chance to gauge its size in real life as with all this covid stuff going on.

Bichirs show dominance ( best alone or groups of 3 or more) and they will eat any bichir they can swallow

No I don’t think he can eat him. I have had a 9-10 bichir eat a 4 inch that was skinny. Yeah you may wanna consider adding another bichir, and keep your PBB well fed. I think the Teug will learn to stay away or aggression will fade. I have an ornate the size of your Teug with my big Endli and I have no issues. Far from this size difference!

Yeah the Pbb is well fed, I could do a trade actually for an ornate and an endi for the PBB and they are smaller more relative to the teugelsi, and yeah them 2 endlis look similar size comparison to mine at the moment roughly, I will keep it monitored and add another bichir but anymore aggressive behaviour il just move the Pbb on, just abit of a weird scenario was like a little tester bite
