I think its pure. Just doesnt have perfectly rounded spots.

for sure is pure! what makes you think is a hybrid? just because of the grey background? some adults leo still have grey back ground on body :)

Hi,

looks pure blooded for the first....

If you can show us a picture of the WHOLE tail, taken from the side and if you tell us, how old and big those rays are, it's very easy, to say if it's a Henlei x Leo or a pure blooded Leo!

Leo pups have a Leo-typical short and small flag on the tail and Henlei a much longer flag on the tail, which cannot be mistaken, if seen a few times before.

If a Leo is combined with a Henlei, the short Leo flag is ALWAYS recessive and the flag of the hybrid is getting as long as the flag of a pure blooded Henlei!

To divide a pure blooded Leo from a Henlei x Leo is very easy, but to divide a pure blooded Henlei from a Henlei x Leo is more difficult.

I think I'll also take pictures of this difference, because actually I have swimming pure blooded Henlei, pure blooded Leo and Henlei x Leo of almost the same age (all about two months), here at my place!

Here already a few from above, maybe you can already see se difference from above.....
The first picture shows henlei x leopoldi, the second 100% pure blooded Henlei and the third and the fourth 100% pure blooded Leos.

Stefan

From above, it's not so very easy to see, but from the side, it's really no problem to see the difference between young Leopoldis tails and Henlei or Henlei x Leo's tails.

Thank for the infor... this is very useful. mine is definately not henhei. Looking at the tail and colour of spot, think mine shd be pure leo.
