well i never had puffers before but im considering setting up a little 10g pea puffer planted tank next to my bed. what would be some things i need ? i just am looking for some input or adivce from experienced puffer keepers

I can tell you right now this puffer will not be your last. The pea puffer is going to open the door to the puffer addiction we all share!

How many do you plan on keeping? I would definitely suggest having a heavily planted tank if you are going to keep multiple dwarf puffers.

Information about dwarf puffers

How to sex dwarf puffers. (In a 10 gallon you want either 2-3 females, OR 1 male and 1-2 females)

And here is a species profile-

Thanks guys !. haha im not to sure about getting more puffers i already have 7 tanks of african cichlids lol.

yeah im gonna make it a heavy planted tank i was thinking 2-3 puffers possibly

I have a happy pair in a 10g hex. Be sure you sex them!

I've got a couple of the little guys. I keep them in a 10g partially planted tank. Right now I have two live plants, an Anubias and two Crypto. I've got a few fake plants, a fake rock cave and a fake piece of wood and plan on adding more live plants. I was a little worried I didn't have enough cover for them to have their own territories but they are doing fantastic.

At the time of this photo there was still a zebra danio in the tank.

That's a very nicely decorated tank! As long as you don't have 2 males, they should get along just fine.

Hey thanks for the compliment. I'm using Eco Complete substrate and I really love the way it looks. I think I'm going to replace the tall plastic plants in the background with water wysteria or something else that is tall and bushy. I think my other two silk plants look good.
