Peaceful Geo's?

What geos are good with tankmates such as dats, bgk, and bichirs? I'm searching for one that wont pick on the fish listed.

How about the tapajos? Any other super colorful ones that are good candidates?

just about all of them its hard to find an aggressive geo

I wouldnt get a Brasiliensis, they tend to be more aggressive

Also stay away from Geophagus' steindachneri. Mine used to constantly harass larger Viejas and the like, to the point of leaving fins frayed. Alas, he met up with some much meaner Pikes and is now in fish heaven.

my surinamensis is super peaceful with all of my tankmates. he squabbles with my moorii a lot of the times, only because the moorii eggs it on. my geo will flare out his throat when the moori goes by and doesn't shove, but that's about all

As mentioned, brasiliensis and steindachneri (and the closely related species of both, iporogensis etc.) can have mean streaks, brasiliensis moreso as they can't really be referred to as a normal eartheater.

Keep in mind that males of most species will show some signs of aggression, however they don't have the mouth to back up the flare, and it will usually only be conspecific targets (other Eartheaters). Eartheaters like chasing other Eartheaters, but in my experience its different to other Cichlids in the fact that they have chasing bursts here and there but it never affects their activity or lasts longer than 15 seconds or so, whereas more standard Cichlids will learn to hate or fear aggressors.

With that said, they're Cichlids. Every single one is different.
